“The Chase is On”; Part 2

Part Two

Welcome to part 2 of Episode 17, “The Chase is On”.

Following on from the first half of the episode, Caithe, Tanner, Zagreus and Ever scout the area of the generators, looking for the person they’ve been chasing through the city streets. Caithe spotted some movement in the mists ahead and shot her crossbow, hoping to take down the quarry. Aided by Tanner, she catches the young dwarvish figure and interrogates him. It soon becomes apparent to her that he had some shady dealings with those associated with the cult. Caithe searched the bundle that the dwarfish fellow carried, to find a boiler suit with the emblem of the Tin Trove, accessories to disguise oneself and a carefully crafted script. The young man begged them not to hurt him and explained he had only done it for the money.

Meanwhile William’s ruse had failed, causing the hobgoblin and his allies to initiate hostility and a fight broke out in the tunnel behind the mines. With William alone in the tunnel to face a hostile gang, the party were unaware of the situation whilst they questioned the young dwarf. They force the dwarf to accompany them to this clandestine meeting he was prepared to go to, but when they arrive at the tunnel entrance they witness a beaten William being bombarded by three hobgoblin assailants. Running into the darkened tunnel, his companions swiftly begin to assist in the fight. But will they be able to save William?

In the episode…

You continue running through the mists. The road curves around and for a second as you run in the darkness, with only the moon to guide your way, you feel suddenly lost. In the dim light you lose your bearings for a second and slow to a jog. Then you see that you are entering the tunnel that runs behind the entrance to the mines. You can make out a few barrels stacked to the right side of the wall and looking through the darkness of the tunnel, you see the moonlit mists of the other side… and a slight shifting silhouette…
