“Wanderer’s Waypost”
In episode five the group narrowly escape the sharp eyes of The Platinum Shield and the conflict within the Triscape Inn and head instead towards the vandalised waypost to investigate.
The party learn that the Waypost building behind the Triscape Inn is dedicated to the following of The Wanderer’s Waypost; a type of arcane network across Cailum that uses teleportation magic to aid travellers. This ‘network’ is very specifically placed upon the land, corresponding to natural places of power – also known as leylines. The Wayposts are often maintained by Wizards, Sorcorers and at times Clerics or those who have the ability to control natural arcane magics, under the employment of the tavern or inn they are attached to. The Wayposts draw power from the leylines in order to function, and its magical minders are empolyed to facilitate the casting of the teleportation spell.
The party discover that this Waypost has been vandalised with graffitti and the teleportation circle destroyed. Zagreus discovers the graffitti mentions ‘The Court of Chroma’ and includes and image painted in the manner of a primitive Kobold head. The four compainions decide to leave before they are spotted by The Platinum Shield guards.
Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the group manage to creep over the north bridge and bed down for the night, but not before taking time to look at the scrap of map that Ever Watchful discovered on the body of the fallen Kobold. Taking time to look over it, they discover that the scrap is part of a bigger map and indicates the Kobolds came from somewhere in the north, close to a city called Khern.
In the morning the map is presented to Decker, who is shocked to see a link to her missing friend, Angie.

In the episode…
The moment the companions stopped to take a breath on the northern facing wall of the Triscape Inn, is the same moment they realised what a precarious situation they found themselves in. With backs against the wall, a small relief came in that the noise of the rushing river below masked any sounds of the conflict that they had found themselves in only moments before.
With Ever Watchful safely returned under the nose of The Platinum Shield and clutching the item she risked the anonymity of the group for, a moment was had to take stock of the surroundings, as across the island on the north bank, torch lights begin to flare in the distance.
