We begin our story in the city of Arcfell, a metropolis sitting at the very top of a large rocky hilltop in the heart of the Crulan Kingdom.
In this episode we are introduced to William and Caithe, following their strange and mystical initiation into the Crimson Bane, a secret organisation created to protect Cailum. And across the water of Archolm Loch, Rory faces concequences that bring him closer to the city of Arcfell.

The Arcfell Institute of Academia and Functional Arcana, known colloquially as IFA, was on this morning, a-buzz with excitement. Today was graduation day for the many students who had spent their childhoods living and learning at IFA. This was the day that a new journey would begin, not only for those leaving the Institute, but also for those who chose to remain at IFA as Scholari of the Aegis Protectorate.
The Aegis Protectorate, an organisation formed from two of Cailum’s religious paths, dedicates itself and those who work within, to the betterment of civilization; teaching and housing children from all over Cailum in disciplines of languages, economics, history, and for those who are able, arcana.
On this day, ten years ago a select number of particularly talented students were asked to remain at IFA to join a program of further education for initiation into The Crimson Bane, a secret organisation set up by the Aegis Protectorate to defend Cailum from evil forces and retain balance to the Paths of the Quarternate.
